While oil production has boomed in the United States as a whole over the last five years, the boom has not occurred evenly among all the states that produce oil in the country. As you will see, some states have experienced tremendous growth in oil production, but other big oil producing states like Alaska, California, Louisiana, and Montana have all actually experienced declines in oil production since 2007.
